France Seeks to Promote Industry, but Frugally

Parussini talks about French government’s plan of promoting new products to reverse the industrial decline, without investing extra funding. The President has presented 34 projects. However, the private sector will be held responsible for carrying out these projects, as the government can only be a catalyst due to industrial deficit. The private sector will produce products that have actual commercial value for trade. An example is glowing blanket for newborns. The President has said that he wants companies to work upon fuel efficient cars, computer technologies, and biotechnology; and, hopes that these plans will help fight unemployment and trade deficit. But, fact of the matter is that the companies responsible for this have moved most of their manufacturing jobs outside France.
